NSP donates Rs one million to govt for Jajarkot quake victims

KATHMANDU: Nepal Samajwadi Party (NSP) led by former Prime Minister Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai donated Rs 10 lakhs to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda on Monday.

He handed over the financial assistance with the intention of supporting the recovery efforts in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Jajarkot.

NSP leaders visited the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar to hand over the contribution towards the relief efforts for the earthquake victims.

The donated amount is set to be deposited into the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund, aiming to address the immediate needs of those affected.

During the meeting, Chairman Bhattarai urged the government to expedite relief operations and provide temporary accommodation for the displaced individuals in the earthquake-affected regions.

The earthquake, measuring 6.4-magnitude struck Ramidanda in Jajarkot on the night of November 3, claiming the lives of 154 people and injuring 400 others.

The disaster left thousands of families homeless and in dire need of assistance.

As part of ongoing efforts, various political parties, organizations, and individuals are contributing to the relief endeavors, demonstrating a collective commitment to supporting the affected communities.
