Identification of lawmakers in Koshi province set for Saturday



BIRATNAGAR: The Koshi Province Chief Parashuram Khapung has scheduled the identification of lawmakers for Saturday, starting at 8:00 am.

The process will run from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, during which provincial assembly members, who have pledged their support to both claimants, CPN-UML backed Nepali Congress leader Kedar Karki, and Maoist Center-led alliance-backed Indra Angbo.

According to the provincial chief’s office, the lawmakers are required to present themselves at the auditorium of the provincial chief’s office with proper identification.

Angbo and Karki, both Koshi Pradesh Assembly members, have submitted claims, accompanied by signatures asserting the backing of 47 members for their appointment as the Chief Minister of Koshi Province.

The supporters of both candidates had been at the Province Chief Khapung’s office on Friday afternoon.
