Bagan: A film to transform society: Deputy Speaker Rana



KATHMANDU: Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Indira Rana highlighted men’s special role in the transformation of society.

Attending a special show of the film ‘Bagan’, she said the film has presented a story of a widowed mother, her struggle and responsibility as well as support anticipated from the family and society.

“Effort has been made to share the feelings of a single mother with society through the film. It has also explored the intricacies experienced in the journey of life in lack of support from the society and the family,” Deputy Speaker Rana added.

She further noted that men’s roles were not meant only for lending support to women but also for discharging the roles for societal transformation.

“It has explicitly imparted a message that a single mother should survive a new life. The message will play the role to transform our existing societal values,” Rana stated.

Political leaders along with artists were also present in the special show. After watching the movie, film artist Ramesh Uprety commented that he could not stop his tears in some scenes of the movie.
