NC General Secy urges President Deuba to hand over leadership

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa has urged party President Sher Bahadur Deuba to hand over the leadership and not to show greed for premiership anymore.

Speaking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport on Tuesday, the NC General Secretary said that party leadership has to realize its high time for the transfer of power to the younger generation.

Thapa has been advocating for a change of leadership in the party.

“President Deuba should hand over the leadership, should not show greed for the post of the Prime Minister as well,” he said, adding, ” He (Deuba) has already become Prime Minister five times; people want change.”

Thapa added that the leadership of the party and the government has to be changed to address the public aspirations and said he would continue advocating for change in the days ahead as well.
