Business organizations appeal for slashing house rent in Butwal



BUTWAL: The commerce and industry-related organizations in Rupandehi came to the conclusion that the entrepreneurs were on verge of displacement with the crises surfaced in trade and business due to decreasing business volume, higher bank interest rates and rise in house rent in the aftermath of COVID-19.

A joint meeting of the business-related organizations held in Butwal decided to prepare a framework to pile pressure in slashing house rent and bank interest rates.

The joint meeting of the Rupandehi Trade Association, Rupandehi Industry Association, Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Industry and Trade Association and Nepal House Rent Concern Organization concluded that it was inevitable to protect trade and commerce and create an environment where each sector can survive in the difficult time.

Rupandehi Trade Association Chair Krishna Prasad Ghimire said the meeting discussed on the critical situation of trade, commerce and industry due to the burgeoning economic crisis and its consequences.

In a joint appeal issued after the meeting, the business organizations urged all sides to remain sensitive to create an environment towards operating trade, commerce and industry so as to revive economy.

Noting that consumers and house owners have been directly affected by deepening economic crisis, they said number of businesspersons evicting this sector has increased in Butwal of late.
