Litterateur Rakesh wins ‘Sabdayatra Samalochana Samman, 2079’

KATHMANDU: Litterateur and translator Dr Ram Dayal Rakesh has bagged the ‘Sabdayatra Samalochana Samman, 2079’ (a literary honor).

Litterateur Rakesh was honoured for his contribution to the Nepali literature, said Chair of the Sabdayatra Publication, Hari Manjushree.

Set up by writer Lalanath Subedi and his family members in memory and honor of his mother Padmakala and father Bhim Prasad, the award is presented every year to a person who has contributed to the Nepali literature.

It carries a purse of Rs 5,000 in cash. Rakesh has penned books entitled ‘Nepali Kabita Bivinna Aayam’, ‘Nepali Sahitya Bivinna Aayam’, and ‘Nepali Samalochana Bivinna Aayam’. He has translated Nepali and Maithili works into Hindi and English.
