Three local levels from Syangja provide Rs 1.27 million in assistance for quake affected communities



SYANGJA: Three local levels from Syangja district have provided Rs 1.27 million in assistance for the earthquake affected communities in Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim districts.

Galyang Municipality, Bhirkot Municipality and Phedikhola Rural Municipality have offered in cash to those quake-affected people in Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim districts.

Galyang provided Rs 400,000 in assistance, Rs 300,000 from Bhirkot and Rs 577,355 from Phedikhola.

Mayor of Galyang Guru Prasad Bhattarai said that people’s representatives and officials raised Rs 200,000 and Rs 200,000 from the municipality’s disaster management fund to support the quake-hit people.

The amount has been deposited to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund managed by the government.

Furthermore, the Bhirkot Municipality has raised some fiber quilts and blankets as well to distribute to the quake survivors.

Different organizations and individuals in the district are also raising relief materials and cash to support the quake affected people, it is said.
