Jeep accident claims six lives in Nawalparasi

NAWALPARASI: Six people died in a jeep accident that occurred at Devchuli in East Nawalparasi, leaving one person seriously injured.

The accident struck at Gore Ghumti in Devchuli municipality when a jeep with the registration number Lu 1 Ja 3270 met with the accident, Nawalparasi District Police Office said.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Bedh Bahadur Paudel from Nawalparasi East stated that the accident happened while the jeep was en route to Dalad market on the Mahendra Highway from Majhdanda of Vaudikali Rural Municipality in Nawalparasi.

Among the deceased, three were women and three were men, highlighting the tragic toll this incident has taken on the community.

DSP Paudel stated that brake failure might have been the cause of the accident, although concrete details about the incident are still awaited.
