Call for including Manakamana in world heritage list



GORKHA: Locals have called for the development of the Manakamana Temple of Gorkha which has been recognized as a popular religious destination as a world heritage site.

The locals urged the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati to take the initiative to include the temple in the world heritage site.

The locals put forth their demand when Minister Kirati was participating in the Manakamana Temple cleaning program.

Minister Kirati said the protection, supervision and management of the temple should be arranged in a way to make the local government responsible.

He made the commitment on behalf of the government to make necessary efforts for the development of the area along the temple.
