Police constable dies in stone fall in Makawanpur



HETAUDA: In a tragic incident, a police constable lost his life after being struck by a falling stone on arid terrain in Bhimphedi rural municipality-2 of Makawanpur.

The Deputy Superintendent of District Police and Police Spokesman, Tek Bahadur Karki, confirmed the unfortunate demise of 22-year-old police constable Kirti Bahadur Nepali from Jajarket Shivalaya Municipality-8. Nepali, who was stationed at the Bhainse police station, met his untimely end on Friday evening.

Spokesman Karki revealed that individuals injured by the falling stones were taken to Hetauda Hospital for medical attention, but tragically succumbed to their injuries during treatment.

The incident unfolded when Nepali slipped and sustained injuries while performing his duties at the police post in Bhainse on Thursday. On Friday afternoon, as Nepali was being transported back to Hetauda Hospital following treatment, another stone struck him, leading to further injuries that proved fatal.

Karki shared that among those affected, police constable Sunil Meche also suffered injuries, although his condition is reported to be stable. The police spokesperson stated that arrangements are in progress to repatriate Nepali’s body to Jajarkot today.
