Police forms probe committee on Siraha police constable abuse case



SIRAHA: Madhes Police has formed a probe commission on the incident of physical abuse of a police constable in the office.

An inquiry committee has been formed regarding the torture of a police constable working in the district police office, Siraha, by tying his hands and feet inside the office premises.

Madhes Police Chief Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Janak Bhattarai said that an inquiry committee was formed as soon as he got information about the incident.

He came today to inaugurate the newly constructed housing building of the District Police Office, Siraha.

“I also got information about the incident. I came to Siraha by chance, so I formed an inquiry committee today. Necessary action will be taken after the report of the committee,” DIG Bhattarai said.

With the release of a video of police constable Anu Rai being tortured by tying his hands back, the subordinate inspector has been shocked.

Hemant Rai, the inspector of his own office, has been accused of torturing Rai by tying his hands and feet.

In a viral video on social media, police constable Rai can be heard requesting for release.
