Accounts officer nabbed with bribe money



LAHAN: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Padam Binod Pokharel, accounts officer at the Road Division Office, Lahan, along with Rs 100 thousand that he took as a bribe.

A team from CIAA, Bardibas office raided the Road Division Office Lahan last evening and caught Pokharel red-handed while accepting the bribe, said CIAA assistant spokesman Devi Prasad Thapaliya.

It is found that Pokharel asked for the bribe for the purpose of payment of the final bill related to a road construction project. CIAA has initiated a further investigation against the accused Pokharel.
