Dr. Wagle challenges Finance Minister to present written assurance of foreign aid

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Dr. Swarnim Wagle has demanded Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat produce the written assurance regarding the foreign aid provision mentioned in the budget.

Speaking in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Dr. Wagle commented that the budget estimates presented by the government are unbelievable.

“Five billion has come in the expected foreign aid of 55 billion rupees. However, it is written in the budget that 38 billion will come within the next four weeks. It is written that 50 billion will come next year. Can you submit a written agreement?” he asked the Finance Minister. ‘

Dr. Wagle added that the foreign aid as mentioned in the budget is not believable. He went skeptical about the revenue projection made by Finance Minister Mahat.
