Two baby rhinos found dead in Chitwan National Park



KATHMANDU: Two baby rhinoceros have been found on the same day in Chitwan National Park.

According to the information provided by the park office, the baby rhinos were found dead in the Amaltari sector and Bagai Madi sector.

Information officer of the park Ganesh Prasad Tiwari informed that a 7-month-old female rhino was found dead in the core area of Mardi marsh of Amaltari sector on Monday afternoon.

It is believed that the unborn baby was killed by a male rhinoceros attack.

On the same day, a male rhinoceros (boy) was found dead in Kasghari in the central area on the south bank of the Riu River in the Bagai Madi sector.

Tiwari said that the child was found dead when the sector team reached the spot after receiving the information from the locals.

An approximately 6-month-old boy died in a tiger attack.

Along with this, the number of rhinoceros that died in the financial year 2079/080 in Chitwan National Park and the central area of the park has reached 16.
