RSP dismisses lawmaker Dhaka Kumar Shrestha on audio scam

Bindabasini Kansakar to replace Dr. Shrestha

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to dismiss lawmaker Dhaka Kumar Shrestha for allegedly asking money from Jhapa based B&C Hospital’s proprietor Durga Prasai.

The party said it took action against Shrestha after the party’s disciplinary committee investigated on the case and submitted report to the central committee.

Earlier, the party suspended lawmaker Shrestha.

Shrestha has been claiming that the audio asking for Rs 20 million from Prasai was fabricated, and not his.

The party held a press conference today to make its decision public.

According to RSP chair Lamichhane, Bindabasini Kansakar of Makawanpur has been picked for the post of lawmaker in the place to be vacated after dismissal of Dr. Shrestha.

Kansakar had been an acid-attack victim.
