HETAUDA: Nepali Congress (NC) has fielded Dhading’s Shivaraj Adhikari for the post of Speaker of the Bagmati State Assembly.
Adhikari will be contesting with Rastriya Prajatantra Party’s Bhuwan Pathak, who is also the common candidate of the ruling coalition.
Five parties of the ruling coalition have 70 MPs, while Nepali Congress has 37 MPs and Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party has 3 MPs.
According to the Bagmati Province Assembly Secretariat, the candidates are required to file their nominations for the post of Speaker from 10:30 am to 2 pm on Thursday.
The Secretariate will publish the final list of candidates at 4 pm.
The election for the post of the Speaker of Bagmati Province will be held at 11 am on Friday.
