CIAA, Pokhara Office submits annual report to Province Chief

POKHARA: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Pokhara Office submitted its annual report for the fiscal year 2079-80 BS (FY 2022-23) to Province Chief Prithviman Gurung.

The document was presented today to the Province Chief by Office chief Santosh Timilsina amidst a programme at the Office of the Province Chief.

Office Chief Timalsina shared that 978 complaints that make up 67.82 percent, out of a total of 1,442 that the Office received in FY2079/80, were addressed. Of the total grievances, 35.95 percent are related to federal affairs (including local levels), 14.55 percent are related to education (including local levels), and 6.09 percent are related to land administration, among others.

During the period, the CIAA investigations led to the registration of 162 cases in the special court.

On the occasion, Province Chief Gurung urged the CIAA body to ensure that their actions are capable of increasing citizen’s faith to the Constitution and the system.
