UML cadres defy security cordon and enter runway at Janakpur Airport



JANAKPURDHAM: CPN-UML leaders and cadres in Madhes province have reached the runway of Janakpur Airport to welcome party Chairman KP Oli.

According to the Janakpur Airport chief Bhim Dutt Pant the UML people defied the security cordon and entered the runway.

Chairman Oli reached Janakpur Airport on Wednesday via Yeti Airlines plane to inaugurate UML’s Madhes Pradesh convention.

The UML leaders and cadres reached the door of the aircraft to welcome Oli.

Madhes Police Chief DIG Janak Bhattarai, Chief District Officer of Dhanusha Chakrapani Pandey, and others were also present at the airport when a mass of more than 25 people breached the cordon and reached the runway to welcome the UML Chairman.

According to Pant, the airport authority had written to ensure that only five people enter to receive VIPs, however, the mass of UML cadres defied all the regulations.

The Civil Aviation Authority spokesperson Jagannath Niraula, confessed that there was a serious air safety violation in Janakpur on Wednesday and the Authority would investigate the issue.

In the meantime, UML’s Madhes Parliamentary Party leader Saroj Yadav claimed that UML cadres did not go to the runway.
