Govt to send NA aircraft to rescue stranded Nepalis in Israel

In response to the dire situation faced by Nepali citizens in conflict-torn Israel, the Nepalese government has initiated a move to evacuate Nepali citizens. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, along with Minister of Tourism Sudan Kirati, convened a meeting at Baluwatar today, instructing the heads of Civil Aviation Authority and Nepal Airlines to deploy an immediate rescue mission for Nepalis in Israel.

Case filed against four, including Rahul Mahara, for gold smuggling

The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Kathmandu registered a case on Wednesday, naming four defendants. The accused individuals in the case are Rahul, son of Maoist Center Vice Chairman Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Lokendra Kumar Poudel, Dawa Chhiring, and Nima Gurung. Lokendra Kumar Poudel serves as the driver for Daojin Wang, the central figure in the gold smuggling case.

Speaker Ghimire urges govt. to repatriate Nepali people from Israel

Speaker Devraj Ghimire has urged the government to promptly make necessary arrangement for bringing back bodies of the Nepali people killed in the Hamas-launched terrorist attack in Israel. He also called for the government to make arrangement for repatriating interested Nepali people staying in Israel.

Gagan Thapa expresses discontent over party bias in CIAA Commissioner appointments

Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary and lawmaker Gagan Thapa has said that there is a party bias in the appointments of officials at the Commission for the Investigation of the Abuse of Authority (CIAA). Speaking in the State Affairs Committee on Wednesday during the discussion on the CIAA Third Amendment Bill, Thapa said that due to the partisanship in the appointment, the results were not as expected.

Nepal Police and Armed Police Force Nepal teams leave for USA

A team comprising the Inspector General of the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal and the Officiating Inspector General of Nepal Police has left for the United States of America today. The team will participate in the conference of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) to be held October 14-17 in California, USA. Along with APF Inspector General Raju Aryal and Deputy Inspector General Shambhu Subedi is also in the team.

Deputy PM Narayan Kaji to attend 3rd BRI Conference in China

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha is scheduled to embark on an official visit to China on October 16. His is scheduled to participate in the upcoming 3rd Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) conference, which is being organized by the Chinese government. China is set to host this event on October 17 and 18, marking a decade since the initiation of the BRI project.

Youth found dead near Bagmati river

A body of a youth was retrieved from the bank of Bagmati river near the Baneshwor-based vegetable market at Kathmandu metropolis-31. The Kathmandu District Police Range confirmed the deceased as Bikash Mahara, 20, of Shankhamul.

International Day of the Girl Child observed today

International Day of the Girl Child was observed across the globe including in Nepal today by organizing various programs. The theme of the Day for this year was “Invest in Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-being”. The Day is observed annually.

Elephant found dead in Jhapa

An adult wild elephant was found dead at Kamaldham Simsar area at Rampokhari community forest at Bhadrapur municipality-2 in Jhapa district today. According to Anjana Giri, Information Officer at the Division Forest Office, Jhapa, the tusker was spotted dead in the swamp of a wetland.

ANFA announces Nepali team to play against Laos in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

All Nepal Football Association, the national governing body for football, has announced the final team for the FIFA World Cup football qualifying match against Laos. Head coach Vincenzo Alberto Annese has announced his final squad for the match. Nepal will play the first leg of the first round against Laos at Dasharath Stadium on Thursday at 5:30 PM. The second leg will be held in Laos next week. The best team in the two legs will advance to the second round.
