KATHMANDU: The Public Prosecutor’s Office has revealed its findings regarding a case of gold smuggling concealed within electronic cigarettes (vapes).
As a result, the Public Prosecutor’s Office is registering a case at the court today.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that the Central Investigation Bureau of the Police, which had previously returned the investigation report with additional statements, has enabled the case to be officially filed at the Kathmandu District Court today.
Last Friday, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) returned the investigation report to the public prosecutor’s office, accompanied by specific directives.
The District Public Prosecutor’s Office reported that the accused individuals, including Rahul Mahara, son of Maoist leader Krishna Mahara, were instructed to provide supplementary statements, and the amended report was returned yesterday.
The CIB has submitted the investigation report to the public prosecutor’s office, paving the way for a legal case against four individuals, among them Rahul Mahara.
