Former PM Bhattarai demands unbiased commission to probe corruption cases



LUMBINI: Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Chairperson of the Nepal Samajwadi Party (NSP), has called for the formation of a fair investigative commission to combat corruption.

He proposed a systematic approach to isolated actions against individuals.

Speaking at a press conference in Butwal today, he emphasizes the need for a high-caliber, impartial inquiry panel, especially given the current uncertainty surrounding the country’s leadership.

On the issue of Lalita Niwas land scandal, Dr. Bhattarai pledged full cooperation in accordance with the Supreme Court’s investigation order.

Reflecting on decisions made during his tenure, he emphasized that the collective importance and readiness to provide a statement, affirming, “This transcends personal matters.”
