Nepali women football team leaves for Bangladesh for friendly matches



KATHMANDU: The National Women Football Team has departed for Bangladesh to play two friendly matches against the Bangladeshi squad.

The matches are scheduled to take place on July 13 and 16.

The friendly matches serve as Nepal’s preparations for the Asian Games 2022 to be held in Hangzhou in China. The Games initially scheduled for September 10-25 in 2022 were postponed due to COVID-19.

The team comprises Anjila Tumbapo Subba, Anjana Rana Magar and Usha Nath as goalkeepers.

The defensive lineup includes Amrita Jaisi, Gita Rana, Hira Kumari Bhujel, Puja Rana, Bimala BK, Nisha Thokar, Samikshha Ghimire and Anjali Waiba.

Reuna Nagarkoti, Saru Limbu, Bimala Chaudhary, Anita Basnet, Priti Rai and Dipa Shahi are mid-fielders and Sabitra Bhandari, Anita KC, Sabita Rana Magar, Rashmi Kumari Ghising, Amisha Karki and Rekha Poudel are forwards.

Ananta Raj Thapa is the head coach for the team while he is assisted by Parash Chaudhary. Suraj Kumar Lama takes charge of the goalkeeper trainer.
