RPP chief whip Shahi demands PM Dahal’s resignation

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) chief whip Gyanendra Shahi has demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

Requesting time in the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, RPP leader Shahi opined that as a war crime allegation has been filed against the Prime Minister, PM Dahal should resign on moral grounds to ensure the court’s investigation proceeds ahead fairly.

“As a writ accusing Prime Minister Dahal of War Crime has been filed at SC, and the Prime Minister is asked to appear in the court on Tuesday, June 13, the Dahal should resign immediately,” the RPP chief whip said.

Responding to Shahi, Maoist Center lawmaker Lekhnath Dahal said that Shahi’s remarks are against the House of Representatives’ regulations and deserve removal from the record of the parliament.

After the speech of the parliamentarians, Speaker Devraj Ghimire said that the issue has been noticed by the parliament.
