Ashta Laxmi Shakya files nomination for vice-presidential post



KATHMANDU: CPN-UML  vice-presidential candidate Ashta Laxmi Shakya has  fielded her candidacy at the vice-presidential candidate.

According to UML sources, Shakya’s proponents for the candidacy include KP Sharma Oli, Subas Nemwang, Chhabilal Bishwakarma, Gokarna Bista and Raghuveer Mahaseth and supporters Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Mahesh Bertaula, Tulsa Dahal, Bhagwati Neupane and Yasoda Rizal.

Earlier, a meeting of the party’s secretariat held on Saturday morning decided to make Shakya the candidate for the country’s vice president.

Shakya, who is also the former chief minister of Bagmati state, is the Vice-Chair of UML.

She had contested for the vice-presidential post in 2065 BS as well.
