Police constable accused of assaulting doctor suspended



KATHMANDU: Senior police constable Shambhu Gurung who beat Dr. Zenith Singh, a doctor working at the National Trauma Center, has been suspended on Saturday.

According to Nepal Police Spokesperson Poshraj Pokharel, senior constable Gurung has been suspended.

“Senior police constable Gurung has been suspended after getting the reports about his misconduct,” he said, adding, “Now there will be further investigation on him.”

While President Bidya Devi Bhandari was on her way to address the Federal Parliament, Gurung, a police officer on duty, assaulted Dr. Zenith Singh, who is working at the trauma center.

Gurung beat up Dr Singh in front of Bir Hospital.
