Nepal Samajbadi Party to get united with Maoist Center

KATHMANDU: The CPN-Maoist Center and Dr. Baburam Bhattarai-led Nepal Samajwadi Party have agreed to go for party unification at the earliest.

According to a member of the party integration negotiation committee from Maoist Center, the party is going to merge with the Baburam-led Nepal Samajwadi Party immediately.

“For this, the party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has already spoken formally.” The leader said, “There can be unity with those who share similar ideology.”

The Maoist Center vice-chairman and coordinator of the negotiation committee Krishna Bahadur Mahara and member of the negotiation committee Girirajmani Pokharel discussed party unity with CPN Maoist Samajwadi Party chairman Karnajit Budhathoki and leader Tilak Magar on Thursday.

The Maoist Center’s negotiation committee also discussed with Nepal Communist Party General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, Nepal Communist Party Chairman Rishi Kattel, Scientific Socialist Communist Party General Secretary Ahuti and CPN Maoist Socialist Chairman Karnajit Budhathoki (Susheel).

Earlier, Maoist Center chair Prachanda and vice chair and coordinator of the negotiation committee formed for party unification Krishna Bahadur Mahara had a formal discussion with the leaders of all the four left parties for party unity.
