KATHMANDU: A Chinese national has been apprehended in connection with the seizure of two kilograms of gold in Nagdhunga.
Chen Zhiwei, the smuggling suspect, has been residing in Sohrakhutte, Kathmandu.
The Kathmandu District Police Range in Teku informed that Zhiwei was arrested on Friday for necessary investigations and legal procedures. This incident led to the apprehension of three individuals by the police.
A team dispatched from the Central Investigation Bureau in Kathmandu detained three individuals, including Zhiwei, in possession of two kilograms of gold from Nagdhunga.
The arrested individuals are Gyalkhinchhe Tamang, Biru Tamang, and Sunil Bhujel from Gosaikunda, Rasuwa.
The seized gold was discovered in a Scorpio car with the plate number 01-028-CH-2696 traveling from Rasuwa to Kathmandu.
