REA demands Chinese ambassador be declared persona non grata

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Ekata Abhiyan (REA) Nepal has demanded to declare the Chinese ambassador Chan Song as persona non grata.

The Abhiyan submitted a memorandum to Foreign Minister NP Saud on Sunday and made such a demand.

Recalling the issue of criticism of Nepal’s relations with India by Ambassador Song in a speech recently, the memorandum demands that the ambassador who made such undiplomatic statements should be sent back.

His statement that Nepal should expand trade with China as there is a loss in trade with India is completely undiplomatic and the campaign demanded that Ambassador Song be declared ‘persona non grata’.

A few days ago, the Chinese ambassador also said that Nepal should learn from China how to develop its economy.

REA President Vinaya Yadav, Senior Leader VP Yadav, General Secretary Dr. Prabhat Kushwaha, Women’s Coordinator Rita Sah, Madhesh-Kathmanduhmandu Contact Coordinator Vinod Singh, Advisor Jayanarayan Yadav, Youth Leader Divas Patel, Dheeraj Giri, Student Council General Secretary Pappu Yadav, Central Member Chandra Yaduvanshi, activist Ganesh Kumar Singh and others reached the ministry to submit their demand to the Foreign Minister NP Saud.
