Educators, academic institutions from Nepal receive ‘SAARC Education Award’



DARJEELING: Various educators and academic institutions from Nepal, India and Bhutan have received the first ‘SAARC Education Award 2023’.

Gorkhaland Territorial Administration Assembly Vice Chair Rajesh Chauhan honored them with the Award amidst a ceremony held at Saint Joseph School, North Point in Darjeeling and the event was co-organized by the Nepal-based ‘Sikshalaya National Monthly’ magazine, the SAARC Journalist Forum and the Rotary Club of Darjeeling.

On the occasion, Chauhan highlighted the essence of education to take society ahead.

Himalaya College Principal Ramhari Siwal, James School Principal Anil Chandra Rai, St. Xavier School Principal Father Samuel Simick, Prerana Sadan’s Principal Hira Maharjan, PABSON Vice Chair Sangita Silwal and Aiselu Bhume Secondary School Management Committee Chair Nandaram Neupane are among those winning the award from Nepal.
