Maoist Center General Secretary Gurung departs for China to facilitate PM Dahal’s upcoming visit

KATHMANDU: Dev Gurung, the General Secretary of the ruling CPN-Maoist Center, has embarked on a trip to China to coordinate essential preparations for Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s imminent official visit to China, scheduled for the third week of September.

Gurung’s departure to China was facilitated via a Tibet Airlines flight on Thursday.

Sources within the Maoist Center indicate that Prime Minister Dahal entrusted Gurung with discussions surrounding potential agenda items for the upcoming visit.

In addition to this diplomatic endeavor, Prime Minister Dahal is slated to take part in the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA in September.

Notably, the visit follows Maoist Center Vice Chairman Agni Sapkota’s visit to China.
