Arju Rana suspects ill-intent of police in circulation of Sandesh Sharma’s audio clip

KATHMANDU: Arju Rana Deuba, a Nepali Congress leader and lawmaker, has raised concerns over the police’s alleged intention to release a controversial audio clip in the Fake Bhutanese Refugee case involving Sandesh Sharma.

Previously, the police had publicly declared that the audio clip featuring Sandesh Sharma, in which Rana is mentioned as one of the recipients of embezzled funds, is authentic.

During a press briefing after a parliamentary session on Monday, Dr. Rana expressed her belief that there is a conspiracy behind the dissemination of the audio clip, which the accused has already discredited as false.

“Why was the audio clip in possession of the police made public? Despite the accused asserting that the audio is fabricated, why is it being circulated again? This seems like a deliberate plot against me,” she stated.
