NC decision to support PM Prachanda appreciable provided it is not part of a ‘trap’: UML Chair Oli

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has said that the decision of Nepali Congress to give vote of confidence to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is appreciable provided it is not part of a trap against the incumbent coalition.

Taking part in the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday, the UML Chair lauded the policies and programs of the government and said that NC decision to give vote of confidence to Prachanda-led government is appreciable for it has been formed with good intent.

“If the support of the Nepali Congress is not a trap, I thank them,” Chairman Oli said, adding, “If they are trying to set a net or trap, they will be disappointed.”

He took a dig at Deuba’s expression, which drew attention to his statement on Monday, and recalled that the parliament dissolution was done by the king in 2017 BS, NC in 2051 BS, and 2058.

Chairman Oli tried to defend his attempts to dissolve the House of Representatives during his premiership.

After getting hints that he was likely to face ‘no confidence motion’ soon, the then Prime Minister Oli had tried to dissolve the house twice in six months during  his tenure.
