Prabhu Sah calls for public testimony against corruption for nation-building

KATHMANDU: The Aam Janata Party (AJP) chairman and lawmaker Prabhu Sah has stressed the need for public testimony against corrupt practices for nation-building.

Speaking at an event organized in Kathmandu on Saturday, Sah highlighted the necessity of citizens speaking out against corruption as a vital step toward resolving the prevalent issue in the country.

“Corrupt individuals roam freely, evading accountability, and the public remains helpless. With this state of affairs, the country’s progress remains unattainable,” he stated, emphasizing the imperative nature of holding corrupt individuals accountable.

He expressed disappointment that corrupt practices remain unchecked, despite assurances of government actions against corruption. “The state itself is drowning in corruption. The promise of inquiries and imprisoning corrupt individuals by authorities is merely an illusion. The power vested in the authorities remains unutilized,” he remarked, urging the public to take charge in curbing corruption.

Sah underscored that unless society sternly opposes corruption, its eradication remains implausible. He asserted the necessity of fostering an environment where corrupt individuals fear repercussions similar to how thieves intimidate people. He emphasized that the country’s direction toward good governance is possible only through strict measures against corruption.
