Proposal against ANFA President Nembang rejected, no votes against

KATHMANDU: The proposal to dismiss Pankaj Bikram Nembang, the president of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), has been rejected.

The attempt to remove Nembang from his position during the  special general assembly today in Hetauda did not succeed. Nembang received 52 votes in favor, while the proposal to dismiss him garnered no votes, and one vote was invalidated.

According to ANFA, 34 out of 86 eligible voters abstained from voting.

In August of last year, 49 ANFA members called for a special general meeting, seeking Nembang’s removal, claiming that he posed a threat to both ANFA and Nepali football.

The rejection of the dismissal proposal, has kept Nembang’s presidency intact. He assumed the role of ANFA president in June of the previous year.
