PM Dahal highlights anti-corruption campaign and good governance drive

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting good governance and combating corruption, noting that some individuals have reacted strongly to these initiatives.

Addressing a program organized by the Young Communist League (YCL) Nepal in Bhachek, Gorkha, on Saturday, Prime Minister Dahal underscored the government’s efforts to enhance governance and provide relief to the public.

Since assuming the role of Prime Minister amid various challenges, Dahal stated, “The government has started directly assisting the people.”

He added, “A substantial campaign has been launched in support of good governance and against corruption. This has stirred strong reactions and reinforced the belief that this is our government, the people’s government.”

Dahal also outlined the government’s strategy to mobilize both the private and public sectors to address the country’s economic crisis, a plan initiated during his tenure as Prime Minister. The government has also begun work on behalf of victims of fraudulent banks and microfinance institutions.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Dahal highlighted the importance of safeguarding the achievements of the political transition. He stressed the need to reestablish the Maoist Center as a party of the people to preserve these accomplishments.

“We are currently engaged in rebuilding the party, and this campaign is gaining momentum nationwide,” the Maoist Center Chairman explained. “It is essential to make this campaign a success to protect the significant changes and achievements attained through immense sacrifice and dedication.”

Prime Minister Dahal disclosed that his upcoming visit to China will focus on Nepal’s development and the opening of border crossings in the northern region of the country.
