BHAKTAPUR: The National Private and Boarding Schools’ Association Nepal (NPABSON), Bhaktapur and the Higher Institutions and Secondary Schools’ Association Nepal (HISSAN) have decided to provide scholarships to SEE graduates from Bhaktapur district.

HISSAN, Bhaktapur President Anil Kaspal and NPABSON, Bhaktapur President Sanjaya Khadka signed an agreement to this effect.

As per the agreement, HISSAN will annually provide a 50 percent scholarship to the SEE graduates from the Bhaktapur-based schools associated with the NPABSON in their pursuit of grades 11 education.

HISSAN member schools will provide a minimum 50 percent scholarship annually, additional discounts and other facilities to the students based on the results of their entrance examinations.

For availing of the facilities, recommendations of the head teacher/principal of the respective school and the mark sheets are required.

Twelve schools have been associated with HISSAN, Bhaktapur, and 27 with the NPABSON, Bhaktapur.

The two organisations will launch educational programs so as to enable students’ personality growth, and increase skills of the teachers for overall educational quality.

They have also agreed to jointly launch programs to create an environment conducive for the students of Bhaktapur to pursue grades 11 and 12 and higher education in the district itself.

The agreement aims to create a climate for SEE graduates of Bhaktapur to pursue further education in the district itself, said Kaspal.

Besides, 10 percent scholarship set by the state will also be provided, he said. The scholarship scheme should continue every year, said Khadka, adding that this will also encourage the students and their parents.

He also stressed the need for the educational institutions to have a healthy competition to develop Bhaktapur as a best education destination.
