KATHMANDU: The Maoist Center has decided to change the party’s name and election symbol.

Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, who is also the Prime Minister, proposed a radical change in the name, election symbols and structure of the party during the Maoist Standing Committee meeting held recently.

The party’s Standing Committee also approved Prachanda’s proposal, a party source said.

“We should start building a strong and orderly Communist Party by taking into account the current public psychology, geo-political system and competition by radically changing the structural, method and method, name and symbol,” Prachanda said in his proposal.

Leader Dor Prasad Upadhyaya said that the meeting endorsed the political proposal presented by Chairman Prachanda to change the name, election symbol and structure of the party.

In the proposal, Prachanda put forward a proposal to unite the party with the political forces whose ideas, principles and behavior are compatible and to build a front for cooperation with the left-wing progressive forces.

Prachanda also admitted that the Maoist Center was shrinking as it has distanced itself from the basic people and classes.
