Police nab one for swindling under pretext of sending to Malta

KATHMANDU: A 33-year-old, Dharmendra Shahi, residing in Dallu, Ward No. 5 of Jumla, has been apprehended for fraudulent activities related to purported employment opportunities in Malta.

Shahi, who had fled after allegedly taking 705,000 rupees from two individuals on Monday, promising overseas employment in Malta, was arrested by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Police Office’s Crime Investigation Division.

Further investigations and necessary actions have been forwarded to the Foreign Employment Department for additional inquiry and legal proceedings, the police said.
