Coalition with communists will lead to NC’s decline: Dr. Shekhar Koirala

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala expressed concern that if the alliance with communist parties persists, it could lead to the gradual decline of the NC.

During the launch of Rita Shahi’s ‘Chinari,’ a collection of ghazals, in Kathmandu on Friday, Leader Koirala underscored that any alliance with the communist parties would surely weaken the democratic forces. He opined that forging alliances should strictly follow elections and be limited to the democratic forces alone.

Dr. Koirala stressed the need for transforming NC to effect change in the country’s current situation, pointing out that as a democratic party, internal debates are natural. He highlighted the criticality of eradicating corruption for achieving good governance and converting people’s despair into hope.
