Education Minister Rai informs HoR about agreement with education stakeholders



KATHMANDU: Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Ashok Kumar Rai informed today’s meeting of the House of Representatives about the agreement reached with the Nepal Teachers’ Association and the Relief Teachers’ Central Committee on 22 and 27 September.

On the instruction of Speaker Devraj Ghimire, the minister informed the House about the agreement in the course of answering queries raised during a deliberation on the School Education Bill, 2080 in the meeting.

The Ministry of Education has written to the Ministry of Home Affairs to maintain the order of precedence of teachers as per the agreement, he said. The government itself could resolve some points of the agreement, while some others could be resolved by making regulations after the passage of the bill, he said.

Meanwhile, the minister urged the passage of the bill in view of the agreement reached earlier with stakeholders. He made this statement in responding to queries raised during a deliberation on the bill in the HoR meeting.
