Justice Karki recommended for Chief Justice

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Constitutional Council (CC) held at  the Office of the Prime Minister and  the Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar on Monday evening decided to recommend Justice Hari Krishna Karki to the post of Chief Justice.

Justice Karki has been executing the role of Acting Chief Justice since 13 December 2022.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire, leader of the opposition party KP Oli, National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, and Law Minister Dhanraj Gurung attended the meeting.

Although Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’   had called the meeting last Saturday, it ended inconclusively then.
