UML leader Karki appointed Chief Minister of Province 1



BIRATNAGAR: CPN-UML leader Hikmat Kumar Karki has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Province 1.

He was appointed as the Chief Minister by the Province Chief Parshuram Khapung according to Article 168 (2) of the Constitution.

Karki garnered the support of a total of 60 MPs from parties, including the CPN-Maoist Center, RPP and Janata Samajwadi Party.

He was elected as a member of the Provincial Assembly for the second time from Jhapa 5(1).
