NOC reduces price of petroleum products

The government has reduced the price of petroleum products. The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) reduced the prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene, and jet fuel with effect from 12 midnight on Sunday. The Corporation has reduced the price of petrol, diesel and kerosene by Rs.3 per liter and aviation fuel (domestic) by Rs.20.

UML leader Karki appointed Chief Minister of Province

CPN-UML leader Hikmat Kumar Karki has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Province 1. He was appointed as the Chief Minister by the Province Chief Parshuram Khapung according to Article 168 (2) of the Constitution. Karki garnered the support of a total of 60 MPs from parties, including CPN-Maoist Center, RPP and Janata Samajwadi Party.

Nagarik Unmukti Party chooses opposition bench in parliament

The Nagarik Unmukti Party, which supported the Prime Minister, has informed the Parliament Secretariat that it is an ‘opposition party’. In response to the question asked by the Federal Parliament Secretariat for parliamentary seats management, Nagarik Unmukti joint spokesperson Dasharath Dhamala informed that his party chose the opposition bench.

Pre-election announcement to topple unconstitutional alliance successful: Oli

CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has claimed that his pre-election announcement to topple the unconstitutional alliance has been successful. Addressing a program in Dhulikhel on Sunday, UML Chairman Oli said that the UML succeeded in toppling the unconstitutional alliance and the government formed through court’s orders.

Janamat and Unmukti Party sign 12-point agreement

A 12-point agreement has been reached between the Janamat Party led by CK Raut and the Nagarik Unmukti Party formed by Resham Chaudhary. These two parties, which have supported the Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’-led government, signed a 12-point agreement on Sunday.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya has said the election to the Member of House of Representatives and Province Assembly has contributed to institutionalise the federal republic along with selection of people’s representatives.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has said that discussions held with Unified Socialist Party and the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Chairmen about the vote of confidence were positive. Prachanda held talks with Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Nepal, and Chairman of JSP, Upendra Yadav at the office of the parliamentary party of Maoist Center, Singha Durbar.

New Chinese ambassador arrives in Kathmandu

China’s new ambassador to Nepal has arrived in Kathmandu. According to the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu, the newly-appointed Ambassador Chen Song arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday. After coming to Kathmandu, Ambassador Song reminded historical relationship between Nepal and China, which hhe said has various dimensions.

Narayangadh-Muglin Road to open for Maghe Sankranti

The Narayangadh-Muglin road section that is closed every day for four days for construction-related work will remain open throughout for two days, targeting the Maghe Sankranti fair at Devghatdham. The road section will open for traffic in the afternoon of January 14 and 15. The Maghe Sankranti, one of the festivals of the Hindus, falls on January 15 this year.
