Tokha Municipality to provide scholarships to 50 students

KATHMANDU: Tokha Municipality has decided to provide scholarships to 50 students within the municipality every year.

For this, the ‘Tokha Scholarship Fund’ has been established, said the education officer at the municipality Khagendra Singh Dhami.

For the fund, the municipality has allocated Rs 1.5 million in the current fiscal year, 2022/23.

Students from early childhood development to Master’s level at community and institutional schools are eligible for the scholarship, he said.

For the fellowship, required things are an application, photocopies of academic certificates and the citizenship certificate, birth registration, a recommendation letter by the respective educational institution and the academic certificates of the grade the applicant passed.

The scholarship will be provided to the total 50 students (10 at the local level, 10 from impoverished families, 10 whose one of their parents or both are not with them, five differently abled, two female and three who are children of the staffs of the respective school and 10 others), he said.
