Kathmandu experiences a 5-degree temperature drop in 24 hours

KATHMANDU: The temperature in Kathmandu Valley took a swift descent today, plummeting by 5 degrees within a mere 24 hours.

Meteorologist Sanjeev Adhikari from the Weather Forecasting Division shed light on the cold spell gripping the valley. “Compared to yesterday (Wednesday), the chill is palpable,” he said today.

As of 2:46 PM today, the temperature was 15 degrees, marking a significant 5-degree dip from the previous day.

Adhikari provided a direct comparison, stating, “Yesterday at this time, it was 20 degrees, whereas today, we are at 15 degrees. The trend is unmistakably toward colder conditions.”

He attributed this sudden change to the partial influence of a low-pressure area situated in Chhattisgarh, India, with its impact extending more prominently towards the east.

Adhikari highlighted the current state of affairs in Kathmandu Valley, emphasizing, “The region is currently in a state of frenzy due to these atmospheric dynamics.”
