KATHMANDU: Rear Admiral Eileen Laubacher, a senior director at the National Security Council for South Asia and ‘special assistant to the assistant to the president for national security affairs,’ National Security Council, Washington, engaged in a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday morning at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar, Kathmandu.
The discussions during the meeting primarily focused on reinforcing diplomatic ties and fostering increased cooperation between the United States and Nepal, as reported by the Prime Minister’s secretariat.
Rear Admiral Laubacher’s visit to Kathmandu, which commenced on Wednesday, included prior meetings with key figures such as Foreign Minister NP Saud, Chief of General Staff of the Nepal Army Prabhu Ram Sharma, and National Security Advisor Shankar Das Bairagi.
The diplomatic engagements underline the commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting collaboration between the two nations in various strategic areas.
