Bajhang hit by another earthquake: Magnitude 5.3 aftershock rocks region



KATHMANDU: Bajhang has once again experienced a seismic event this morning.

The National Earthquake Measurement and Research Center has reported a magnitude 5.3 earthquake striking Bhatekhola in Bajhang at 11:45 am on Saturday.

Just last Tuesday, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake had its epicenter in Bajhang, resulting in a series of continuous aftershocks in the region. Saturday’s aftershock is the most significant of them all.

The earthquake last Tuesday claimed one life and left 20 others injured.

In the wake of the earthquake, 70 houses in Bajhang were completely destroyed, with an additional 245 houses partially damaged.
