Arju Rana files defamation case against lawmaker Singh, hearing on Sunday

KATHMANDU: Lawmaker and Nepali Congress Central Member Arju Rana Deuba filed a defamation case against lawmaker Dr. Amresh Kumar Singh at the District Court, Kathmandu.

According to a source close to leader Deuba, the case against Singh is scheduled for hearing on Sunday.

Lately, lawmaker Singh had been calling Deuba the ‘Pamphadevi of the Republic’. Amresh gave an interview to the media alleging Arju’s involvement in the country’s biggest corruption case.

Lawmaker Singh, who had been in NC for a long, had contested in the House of Representatives as an independent candidate and was elected from Sarlahi-4.

Arju has submitted the audio and video clips of Singh’s statement as evidence.

Earlier, she had expressed her anger in the parliament saying that she had been targeted in the case of fake refugees. She said that she will go to legal process saying that her character has been assassinated.
