Martyr’s Memorial A Division League: Sankata and Friends play draw on Wednesday



KATHMANDU: Friends club in the relegation zone played a 1-1 draw against Sankata Club under the Martyr’s Memorial A Division League undergoing in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

In the 25th-round match held on Thursday, Friends ended in a 1-1 draw with Sankata.

In the match at Dasharath Stadium, Friends Club was forced to settle for a draw as they could not maintain their lead.

With the draw, the threat of relegation for the Friends prevails, and the Sankata is safe.

Friends scored a goal in the 53rd minute of the match that ended in a goalless draw in the first half. Torik Zebrin scored for Friends and took the lead.

Friends scored in the 70th minute. Junior Ankune equalized with a goal for Sankat. After that, as no more goals were scored in the game, Friends was finally relegated to the B division.

Friends is undefeated against Sankata in the ongoing league. In the first match, Friends won easily by 3-1 against Sankata.

With the draw, Friends has 27 points from 25 matches while Sankata has 31 points from the same matches.
