KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has initiated the process of the cabinet reshuffle.

According to reliable sources, PM Dahal has initiated efforts to include leaders from the Janamat Party in his cabinet.

PM Dahal, who assumed office as Prime Minister on December 25, 2022, finalized the composition of his cabinet on May 23, 2023.

A leader closely associated with Prime Minister Dahal confirmed that preparations are underway to reshuffle the Council of Ministers, with the objective of including the Janamat Party within the government.

Given that the Cabinet has already been completed, the inclusion of the Janamat Party in the government would necessitate the Maoist Center to vacate one ministry in order to accommodate the new party.

The cabinet led by PM Dahal consists of Maoist leaders holding key positions.

They include Narayan Kaji Shrestha as the Home Minister, Shakti Basnet as the Energy Minister, Rekha Sharma as the Communications Minister, Aman Lal Modi as the Federal Affairs and General Publications Minister, and Sudan Kirati as the Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister.
